GALESBURG — Jean Luc Wilson (East Moline, Ill./United Township) scored 18 of his game-high 20 points in the second half, but the Carl Sandburg College men’s basketball team lost 98-76 at Milwaukee Tech on Wednesday night.
The Chargers (1-1) trailed 31-25 in the closing minutes of the first half before three consecutive 3-pointers by the Stormers (1-0) sparked a 20-4 stretch that left MATC up 51-29 at halftime.
Wilson finished with 20 points on 8-of-16 shooting in addition to collecting four rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks.
Freshman Atem Agot (East Moline, Ill./United Township), who recorded a double-double in his Chargers debut earlier this week, finished a rebound shy of another against the Stormers. Agot ended the night with 17 points and nine boards while shooting 5 for 10 from the floor.
MATC had five players reach double figures in scoring, led by Mason Johnson’s 18 points and 12 rebounds.
